Hangleton Junior School

PTFA

Welcome to the Hangleton Junior School PTFA pages.

Upon joining the school, all parents and carers automatically become members of the Hangleton Community Junior School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association.   This is a flourishing organisation which operates with an elected committee, who have responsibility for arranging the many varied activities and fundraising events which take place throughout the year.

One of the main aims of the Association is to provide an important link between parents/carers and the school. Fund raising is obviously high on the agenda and over the years the PTFA have raised thousands of pounds to help provide the many extras, which benefit all the children in the school. Additionally, social events are arranged which, although may only bring in a small profit, help bring together the school community of parents, teachers, governors and pupils on a more informal basis.

We are also financially responsible for the swimming pool. This includes funding the maintenance of the day to day functions as well as raising money to upgrade the surrounding building and the pool itself.  We are very fortunate to have a swimming pool on the premises, a luxury many schools do not have, and to this effect we have appointed a sub committee to focus on grant applications and obtaining quotes for replacing the pool building.

We are a committed group of people who have fun whilst helping the school to give the children the best education possible. I am very proud to be chair of such a fantastic committee. We are always welcoming new members, so please see our notice board by the school office for further information if you wish to find out more.
