Hangleton Pool| Back

Following a recent donation from Brighton and Hove Council for £5,000, thanks to Dawn Barnett (one of our local councilors), we are now thrilled to announce that Sarah Wilks has managed to obtain a grant from the Foundation for Sports and Arts for £25,000. This will bring the grand total in our swimming pool account to £85,000 which means we can now go full steam ahead with our new pool building!

We must express our sincere thanks to all the parents and children who have helped to raise such an amazing amount of money. We also want to say thank you to Dawn Barnett who is fighting so hard on our behalf, and in particular to Sarah Wilks who has spent many, many hours over the last two years, fundraising on our behalf. We know that the application for this latest grant took her over 12 hours to complete!

 

Finally we would also like to thank Paul Bond and Trevor Prodger, our project managers. For them a huge amount of further work is still to come! Paul has succeeded in getting amended planning permission for his new design and is now in the process of applying for building regulations, and then we can begin. If there are any builders or building company employees out there who could offer materials or labour for the foundations, we’d love to hear from you!
